Other corporate notables include fast food giants Joan Kroc of McDonalds(mcd) and )to the Salvation Army
/Thomas Monahan of Domino's pizza. Gifting over 1.5b and 220 m. Respectively.
Bernard Marcus of Home Depot has granted -263M . Irving Jacobs of QCOM gave -110m to the University of California San Diego.
Entertainment mogul. Steven Spielberg has set the bar at a cool 1 m for his peers. David Geffen gave 200 m to the UCLA Medical center. Paul Newman has gifted over 140 mil from his culinary delights at Newman's own.
Sting and Bono have chimed in with support for foundations for saving the rainforests, Greenpeace and amnesty international.
Sharon Stone and Oprah Winfrey have set planet hope And Oprah's Network benefiting children of all ages and cultures.
On a note of guilt raising commentary. Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmore quibeb "balls to charities" pointing out if people gave what they spent on the spectacle of charity events the could give twice as much. HMMM' but how much fun is that.?
The Stones online auction runs through Nov 17 with some lucky giver getting the 8th wonder of the world'
